Scholarships supported by the ABC
As part of their commitment to continuing education in the field of early music, the ABC supports two scholarship funds.
Note: unfortunately, due to the Pandemic, the scholarship is not being issued from 2020 to 2023. Kindly check back with us as conditions improve! Check our Facebook page from time to time.
In 1989, the ABC endowed the Margaret S. DeMarsh National Recorder Scholarship administered by the American Recorder Society. Margaret was the third director and a founding member of the consort. Yearly, the American Recorder Society Education Committee grants funds from the scholarship to underwrite study and performance.
The ABC also underwrites the Jane and William Coffey Regional Recorder Scholarship, established in 2005. Bill and Jane, who retired from the group in 2004, were founding members. Scholarships are awarded by directly applying in writing to the ABC.
