  Hindemith, Kubik, Staeps    &  Mageau
Performed by
Joseph Loux,
Laura Lane,
and
Elizabeth Silliman

 Recorded
in concert at
the Congregational Church         Ravena, NY

These four trios show contrasting and changing styles of recorder music during recent times, and commemorate several milestones.  They were selected for recording to affirm the musical idioms and contributions of outstanding composers who expanded the corpus of recorder literature. It is our hope that this CD will inspire current recorder players to study, play, and perform these fine works. For several of these works, the ABC's is the sole recording available.

Contents of the CD:
Trio for Recorders from Plöner Musiktag (1932) by Paul Hindemith
   Allegro  ~  Fugato ~ Vivace

Suite for Three Recorders  (1941)  by Gail Kubik
   Prelude ~ Plainsong ~ Canon

Saratoga Suite (1966) by Hans Ulrich Staeps
