And THIS is how it all began ! !

The year is 1962. 
Here, recorded for posterity, we see one of the first performances of the Adirondack Baroque Consort. It was New Year's Day, on a small boat, in Florida. The musicians traveled about, serenading friends and neighbors. Who knew that this was the be- ginning of a group that would be continuously performing for over a half a century, one of the oldest Early Music groups in the United States?

To begin with, there were eight musicians, and through the years it has remained at about that number.

Here we see the group in 1966. ABC's first director, Maurice Whitney, is seen here in the upper right.





Seen here in the lower left are William and Jane Coffey, who were honored at our very recent fiftieth Anniversary Banquet in October of 2012.
